Musical performance for Year 1

Today the children enjoyed a performance from musical group Trio Globo who play different music from all around the world. Trio Globo played us some different music that would have been heard by the passengers on The Titanic. They started playing ‘The Entertainer’ and then played a waltz that would have been danced to by the passengers in first class. We heard some music that would have been traditional for the passengers from Scotland and Ireland and then some music that would have been performed by the Jewish passengers on the ship. The children had the opportunity to dance along as well as use some percussion instruments. The musicians also talked to the children about the different instruments they were playing including the accordion, saxophone, clarinet and violin.

Ukuleles in Year 6

This half term we have been enjoying learning to play the ukulele in our music lessons. So far we have learnt the F, C and D minor chords. Both Mrs Cossavella and Mr Clayton have been extremely impressed with how the children in 6TC have been doing!

City of Leeds Youth Music Festival at Leeds Direct Arena!

On Tuesday evening, 7 of our year 5/6 pupils sang at this incredible event in Leeds Arena. They were part of the Primary Schools Choir comprising over 400 children from 46 primary schools. They were chosen for their passion and commitment. They had prepared well and sang brilliantly. The evening showcased many of the music bands, orchestras and choirs organised by Artforms across the city. Allerton CE is a Champion Music School in Leeds for its commitment to Music. One of our children also featured in a video clip promoting the Saturday Music School where she takes Creative Song writing classes.

Here they are singing beautifully on the very front row!

They sung with the secondary choir also

Many other brillaint musicians, choirs and bands performed. It really was a show!

We made it on the big screen too!

Music Concert

Wow! What a day for ACE! Today, KS2 had an amazing time going to a ‘gig’ in the main hall! They listened to a live band from Front Row Music who played all of their favourite songs. They danced, sang and enjoyed experiencing a live music concert. What a brilliant experience for everyone involved.
